What’s On

Christmas is Coming.

This Sunday, 3rd December, is Advent Sunday.  This is the first Sunday in the churches year, when begin to look forward, not only to Christmas, to the celebration of the birth of Jesus in the stable at Bethlehem, but also beyond, to his second coming, as Christ the King, revealed in all his splendour, majesty and glory.  We will be celebrating the beginning of Advent with Holy Communion at 9.00am, followed by our All Age Service at 10.30am.  Refreshments will be served in the Church Hall in between the two services, from 9.45am.

On Saturday 9th December we will be hosting a coffee morning in The Guildhall, from 10.00am until midday.

On Sunday’s 10th, 17th and 31st December we have a service of Holy Communion at 10.30am with refreshments service in the church hall afterwards.

We have a beautiful candlelit Carol Service coming up at 7.30pm on Friday 15th December with organist, Alex West and the Bradninch Christmas Choir.  Then on Monday 18th December, also starting at 7.30pm, there will be A Celebration of Christmas with the Bradninch Festival Choir.  Both come with mince pies and mulled wine.

Sunday 24th December is, of course, Christmas Eve.  We have no service in the morning but at 6.00pm we have our special, ‘knitivity’ Donkey Service.  Come early and meet Isachaar!  Then at 11.30pm we have a traditional Midnight Communion Service.  On Christmas morning there is a short, said service of Holy Communion at 9.00am.

Our new feature, ROOTS, continues on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm in the Church Hall.  This is a great opportunity for taking faith further, with space for learning, prayer and worship, discussion and friendship.  But on Wednesday 20th December we will be gathering in The Castle instead for an evening of Beer & Carols, starting at 8.00pm.

Our monthly Knit and Natter is on Tuesday 19th December, in the church hall from 2.00pm.  Bring along any craft, not just knitting or just come and enjoy a natter and a cuppa.

You can be sure of a warm welcome at our Wednesday Welcome, in the church hall every Wednesday, from 10.00am-2.00pm.  As well as hot and cold drinks and home baking, we will also be serving soup and sandwiches for lunch.  So plenty of time to meet friends, make new ones, or have some quiet time to yourself.

Our special Third Sunday Collection this month is for The Children’s Society.

Details of all our upcoming services and events can be found on our What’s On calendar.
