Our services for April begin with our Traditional Communion in church on 6th April at 9.00am. This will be followed by refreshments in the church hall and then Café Church in the hall from 10.30am.

Café Church combines the hospitality of Warm Welcome and Sunday coffee times with worship. It’s worship in the church hall around tables (or on sofas!) with space for conversation and community, complete with pastries and drinks. It’s fun, fresh and thought provoking for all ages and stages.

Sunday 13th April is Palm Sunday and, in celebration of Jesus’ triumphal entry intro Jerusalem riding on a donkey, we are going to Follow the Donkey, beginning outside the Guildhall at 10.15am, and then processing down to the church for worship for everyone at 10.30am. You can read more about Issachar the donkey and how he helps bring Bible stories to life here

Holy Week continues as we remember the events of the Last Supper and the Passion in a quiet, Reflective Communion service on Maundy Thursday. This will be in the church hall at 7.30.

On Good Friday, 18th April, we will be joining with our friends from the Baptist Church for a Walk of Witness. We meet at the Baptist Church at 2.00pm, then walk with the cross through the town, pausing to reflect and worship, to St Disens. Our walk and worship will be followed by hot cross buns and drinks in the church hall.

On Easter Day there is a Sunrise Service at 6.00am at Christ Cross House, Silverton, EX5 4HF. We’ll gather together for worship, with sunrise at about 6.08am, followed by bacon butties and other goodies in the barn. Parking available. Wellies or boots required. Please contact us for more information.

Then we’re back at St Disen’s Church for a celebratory Communion Service for everyone to mark the day of resurrection, followed by an egg hunt and Easter nests, drinks and more in the Church Hall.

We will also be holding a Communion Service on Sunday 27th April. Again, this is at 10.30am, followed by refreshments in the church hall.

Our monthly Knit and Natter is on Tuesday 15th April, in the church hall from 2.00pm. You are welcome to bring along any craft, not just knitting or just come and enjoy a natter and a cuppa.

Wednesday Welcome moves to its summer hours from 2nd April, of 10am-12 midday. You can still be sure of a Warm Welcome though, every Wednesday in the Church Hall with hot and cold drinks and home baking.

Looking forward to May, we have an evening of musical exploration with members of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra on Friday 2nd. The programme features music of the 20th and 21st century from composers around the world, including Karl Jenkin’s Palladio, Holst’s St Paul’s Suite and a lullaby by Gershwin.
