Sunday 2nd November is All Souls Day, a day of prayer and remembrance for the departed. We will be holding our annual service, In Loving Memory, in the afternoon at 4.00pm to remember those we love who have died. Before then, in the morning, we have a service of Holy Communion at 9.00am and Café Church at 10.30am. Refreshments will be served in the church hall between the two services from 9.45am.
On Saturday 8th November Bradninch Voices will be performing Fauré’s Requiem and other music for Remembrance in St Disen’s Church. An hour’s music from 6.00pm, with doors opening at 5.30pm. The concert is free with a retiring collection for St Disen’s and Balloons, a local charity working with bereaved children and young people. Then on Remembrance Sunday, 9th November, we will be gathering at the War Memorial from 10.30am for the Act of Remembrance, followed by a Service of Remembrance in St Disen’s Church. Refreshments will be available after the service in the church hall.
We’ll be hosting another Café Church on Sunday 16th November at 10.30am bringing the hospitality of Wednesday Welcome (see below) and Sunday coffee times to worship. It’s worship in the church hall around tables (or on sofas!) with space for conversation and community, complete with pastries and drinks.
The end of November sees the end of the churches year on Sunday 23rd November and the beginning of Advent on Sunday 30th November. There will be services of Holy Communion on both Sundays at 10.30am, followed by refreshments in the church hall.
Our monthly Knit and Natter is on Tuesday 18th November, in the church hall from 2.00pm. You are welcome to bring along any craft, not just knitting or just come and enjoy a natter and a cuppa.
You can also be sure of a warm welcome at our Wednesday Welcome, in the church hall every Wednesday from 10.00am until 2.00pm. As well as hot drinks and home baking there will also be soup and sandwiches for lunch.
