What’s On: October

October begins with a Harvest Communion Service at 9.00am on Sunday 5th followed by Harvest Café Church in the church hall at 10.30am (refreshments in the church hall from about 9.45am). Café Church combines the hospitality of Warm Welcome and Sunday coffee times with worship. It’s worship in the church hall around tables (or on sofas!) with space for conversation and community, complete with pastries and drinks. It’s fun, fresh and thought provoking for all ages and stages.

On Sunday 12th October there will be a service of Holy Communion at 10.30am and on Sunday 26th it’s Morning Praise, again at 10.30am. Both will be followed by refreshments in the church hall.  In between, on Sunday 19th October we have Café Church in the church hall at 10.30am. Again refreshments will be available from about 10.15am.

Our monthly Knit and Natter is on Tuesday 21st October, in the church hall from 2.00pm. You are welcome to bring along any craft, not just knitting or just come and enjoy a natter and a cuppa.

You can be sure of a warm welcome at our Wednesday Welcome, in the church hall every Wednesday.  This month we move to our winter hours of 10.00am until 2.00pm.  As well as hot drinks and home baking there will also be soup and sandwiches for lunch. You’ll find a warm, safe space, free to all.

We are holding our annual Gift Week this month, from 5th – 12th October. If you care about St Disen’s Church, whether that’s the building, the community around it, or the worship that takes place there, we would be most grateful for your support. To find out more and how you can make a donation, please take a look at our Donations page. Thank you.

We also have a monthly collection for external charities and causes. This month we will be collecting for CHAT.
