Our services for March start with Holy Communion on Sunday 1st March at 9.00am. This will be followed by Café Church in the church hall at 10.30am. Refreshments will be served in the church hall from 9.45am.
Café Church brings the hospitality of Wednesday Welcome and Sunday coffee times to worship. It’s worship in the church hall around tables (or on sofas!) with space for conversation and community, complete with pastries and drinks. We also regularly hold a Café Church on the third Sunday of the month. For March this will be on the 15th. Sunday 15th March is Mothering Sunday and so we will be having a special Café Church for that day, a time for all to celebrate those precious to us.
We have a service of Holy Communion on Sunday 8th March and Morning Praise on Sunday 22nd March. Both are at 10.30am, followed by refreshments in the church hall.
Sunday 29th March is Palm Sunday. Join us as we remember the events of that first Palm Sunday when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey while the people shouted ‘Hosanna’ and spread cloaks and palm leaves on the ground before him. We start at The Guildhall at 10.15am before following the donkeys down to St Disen’s Church, where our worship continues for everyone at 10.30am. The service will be followed by refreshments in the church hall.
On Saturday 7th March we are holding a Coffee Morning at the Guildhall, from 10.00am until midday, with plenty of lovely cakes and a raffle.
Our monthly Knit and Natter is on Tuesday 17th March, in the church hall from 2.00pm. Bring along any craft, not just knitting or just come and enjoy a natter and a cuppa.
You can be sure of a warm welcome at our mid-weekly Wednesday Welcome, held each week from 10.00am until 1.00pm. As well as hot drinks and home baking there will be soup and sandwiches for lunch.
Each month we have a collection for a charity or organisation. Our chosen charity for March is SPANA, who help and improve the lives of animals working abroad. The collection is in memory of Isachaar, a lovely donkey who joined us and other churches for our Palm Sunday processions and Nativity Services.
