What’s On: April

Our services for Holy Week continue on Maundy Thursday, 2nd April with a reflective communion service in the church hall at 7.30pm. This will include space for silence and reflection as we remember the events of the Last Supper, the night of Jesus’ betrayal, and the Passion.

On Good Friday, 3rd April we will be meeting in the church at 10.30am for a quiet and creative service of meditation for everyone. Our focus is on the cross of Jesus, using the prayer spaces in the church and coming together for worship and prayer. Hot cross buns will be served afterwards in the church hall.

Easter Sunday begins at sunrise as we celebrate the resurrection morning with other churches in the area with an open air service at Christ Cross at 6.30am. This will be followed by breakfast in the barn. Then at 10.30am we’re back at St Disen’s Church for a celebratory Communion service for everybody to mark resurrection morning, followed by an egg hunt in the church yard and Easter nests, drinks and more in the church hall!

Services for April continue with Holy Communion on Sunday 12th and Morning Praise on Sunday 26th. Both services are at 10.30am followed by refreshments in the church hall. In between, on Sunday 19th we have Holy Communion at 9.00am and Café Church at 10.30am. The latter will, as usual, be in the church hall where refreshments will be served from 9.45am.

Our monthly Knit and Natter is on Tuesday 21st April, in the church hall from 2.00pm. You are welcome to bring along any craft, not just knitting or just come and enjoy a natter and a cuppa.

Wednesday Welcome moves to its summer hours from 1st April, of 10am-12 midday. You can still be sure of a Warm Welcome though, every Wednesday in the Church Hall with hot and cold drinks and home baking.
