St Disen’s Church Gift Week 2nd-8th September 2019

St Disen’s holds an annual gift week to raise much needed funds to help with the repair and maintenance of the church and church hall.  Caring for these buildings is no small task and there is always work to be done.  Recently repairs have been undertaken to the organ, which is nearly 130 years old.  Our current major project, however, is the building of new toilets behind the church hall.  More longer term we hope to provide a proper service area where we can serve refreshments.  If you would like to support our gift week, please contact our treasurer.  Thank you.

Bellows to Mend

Work has started on the repair and restoration of the organ.  The organ dates from 1889 when it was rebuilt by Messrs Hele & Sons of Plymouth using parts from an earlier organ.  It was overhauled just after the end of the Second World War and again in 1979 but is now once again in need of some repair.  Thank you to all who have helped raise the funds to enable the repairs to be undertaken.
