Church Gift Week
Thank you, so much, to all who gave so generously to Church Gift Week. The total collected, including the Gift Aid contributions, was £2,892.
This money will all be spent on repairs to and restoration of the church and church hall.
Harvest Hoedown!
Come and join us in the Guildhall on Saturday 13th October for a Harvest Hoedown with JAMAS.
Ploughmans and pud from 6.30pm. Barn Dance from 8.00pm
Adults £5.00, under 16s £2.50, under 5s free.

Descendants of Squire Boone Visit St. Disen’s
A lovely e-mail received from our American friends:
Hello Ros,
We are the descendants of Squire Boone and Squire junior, brother of the famous Daniel. We recently had the pleasure of meeting you and others of your congregation when we visited St Disen’s Church. I decided to send the photo as a thank you for your wonderful hospitality. St Disen’s was on my list of places to visit for many years and it was lovelier than I ever imagined, thanks to you good folks!
Later, we were invited to attend the dedication of the Squire Boone (junior) statue in Shelbyville, Ky. Squire founded the first settlement in the area in 1776 and named it Painted Stone. According to the people of Shelbyville, Daniel wouldn’t have lived so long if it wasn’t for his younger brother, Squire (my 5th great-grandfather) as he saved his life at least three times!
It was wonderful having made both those excursions in the same year. Thank you again for your warm reception. We hope to return someday.

Congratulations to Sam and Bryn who were married in St Disen’s Church last Saturday, 15th September. The looks on everyone’s faces, especially Sam and Bryn’s says it all.

A poster put together by our Tiddlywinks Group to remind us that God is the creator of all lovely things.
Tiddlywinks is especially for babies and young children with their parents/carers. We meet in the church hall every first and third Wednesday of the month, 9.30am-11.30am.

A cheerful, chatty group of church friends came together on Sunday afternoon to enjoy a special tea, including egg sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, Victoria sponge and apple cake, to celebrate the end of our Gift Week.
Refugee Support Group
The Bradninch Refugee Support Group is planning to hold a further three collections for good quality clothes, food and toiletries. These will be on Saturdays, September 8th, 15th and 22nd from 10.0am–12noon in St Disen’s Hall.
Support has been amazing in the past— keep it going!!!
Come for Coffee
Our 4th Wednesday coffee mornings are proving very successful, so we have decided to extend them.
The VERY informal, and free, coffee mornings will now be held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, from 10.30 –12noon. Do please come and join us!

Gift Week & Afternoon Tea
St Disen’s will be holding its annual Gift Week from 2nd to 8th September. As in previous years all monies raised will go directly to the care and maintenance of the church and church hall. Please help us to continue to look after these buildings. Thankyou
And, to mark the end of Gift Week we are holding a Thank you Tea at 4.00pm on Sunday 9th September. All welcome.
