Bradninch Together is now live with leaflets being delivered by Royal Mail. The parish has been divided into different zones with co-ordinators for each area. So please do get in touch with them if you need a helping hand. They can help with such things as shopping, collecting medication and dog walking, as well as a friendly phone call. More information, including contact details for the co-ordinators of each zone can be found on our Bradninch Together page.
Following the advice of the Church of England all forthcoming services and events have been cancelled until further notice.
But as they say, we will not be ‘shutting up shop’. Instead we will be looking to become a ‘different kind of church, one rooted in prayer and serving others’. More details on how this will happen in Bradninch to follow.
In the meantime the church will remain open during the day. Please remember though when coming into the church to keep the recommended distance from anyone else who may also be there at the same time.
In the light of this evening’s Government update, Wednesday’s meeting has been cancelled. However, a plan is now in place to ensure that everyone can access help when they need it.
Leaflets will be distributed to all houses in Bradninch and Hele by the end of this week, with co-ordinator contact details and other useful information.
A call for volunteers.
Coronavirus might become a real problem for some people in Bradninch. So a scheme called ‘Structured Neighbourness’ is being set up with the aim of being able giving practical help as and where needed.
There will be a meeting on Wednesday 18th March in St Disen’s Hall for volunteers to get together (if they want to) to outline details and plan further.
If you can help in any way please call or email Sophie West or Anthony Richards.
Please note that the following events have been cancelled this month:
Knit & Natter, Tiddlywinks, Messy Church, Wednesday Coffee Morning and Friday Lent Lunches.
The latest guidance and advice from the Church of England in the light of the continued increase of Covid-19 cases in the United Kingdom includes the suspension of the administration of the chalice during Communion as well as physical contact during the sharing of the peace, blessing or “laying on of hands”.
The full guidance and advice for churches is available on the Church of England website.
We will be having a special Ash Wednesday Communion Service at 7.30pm on 26th February. This will be followed by a series of Lent Lunches comprising soup and bread each Friday throughout Lent, starting on 28th February at 12.00 midday in the Church hall.
And, to celebrate St David’s Day on Sunday 1st March we will be hosting a special Evensong. This will begin with a Welsh tea at 3.30pm followed by the Evensong service at 4.00pm All welcome.
Please note that there will be no Tiddlywinks this coming Wednesday, 19th February. Our next get together will be on Wednesday, 4th March. We look forward to seeing you then.
